Transportation & Injury Research « Back to Service

The Center for Transportation Injury Research (CenTIR) was established in 1998 at CUBRC in Buffalo, NY. Using scientists and engineers from CUBRC as well as faculty and graduate students from the University at Buffalo, the CenTIR continues the rich heritage of Buffalo-based research and innovation in automotive crash safety, injury prevention and analysis.

The principal mission of the CenTIR is to perform both advanced and applied research to identify and evaluate counter-measures for reducing transportation-related mortality and morbidity. This is being accomplished through the careful selection and successful performance of research and development projects that lead to real-world tests. The results from these projects are being used to extrapolate local findings to the national level to identify the most promising systems, technologies, interventions and countermeasures.
