CUBRC’s Center for International Science and Technology Advancement (CISTA) is a team of highly motivated scientific experts and administrative professionals who provide a broad range of science and technology program management
services of international scope. The program areas covered for our clients to date include chemical and biological weapons nonproliferation and threat reduction, public health, biosafety and biosecurity, and programmatic support of collaborative research and development projects in the Middle East.
CUBRC’s staff has a broad range of experience performing and managing collaborative research programs and has worked with many federal agencies including DoD, USAID, NIH, and USDA. CUBRC has significant experience working and collaborating with academic institutions on a wide range of research initiatives, and also frequently engages industry partners to implement programs.

Dr. Lara Campbell directs CUBRC’s Center for International Science and Technology Advancement. She has been part of the CUBRC team since 2006 and serves as Chief of Party for CUBRC’s support to the Middle East Regional Cooperation Program of the US Agency for International Development. Previously, Dr. Campbell supported the BioTechnology Engagement Program of the US Department of Health and Human Services, the Biological Threat Reduction Program of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Dr. Campbell was a Fulbright Scholar from 2008-2009 in the Middle East evaluating entrepreneurial ecosystems and she has a particular interest in promoting regional collaborations in the developing world.
