Welcome to the CenTIR Website The Center for Transportation Injury Research (CenTIR) was established in 1998 at CUBRC, an independent, not-for-profit, research corporation in Buffalo, NY. Briefly stated, the mission of the CenTIR is to:
Technical staffing for the CenTIR is provided by CUBRC’s in-house scientists and engineers, as well as by faculty and graduate students from the University at Buffalo. This alliance has enabled the CenTIR to continue the rich 50 year heritage of Buffalo-based research and innovation in automotive crash safety, injury prevention and analysis. Technical oversight of the CenTIR is provided by Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center. Currently, the major CenTIR Research Focus Areas include:
