Today, Tom McMahon, CUBRC President and CEO announced that CUBRC’s wholly owned subsidiary Avarint, LLC was awarded a sole-source, $96M indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) type contract by the U.S. Air Force. This new, 10-year contract is focused on the development and sustainment of Counter Hypersonic Aircraft Command Control and Communications modeling and simulation technologies.
Known as CHAC, the contract enables Avarint to continue its long history of providing specialized technical and engineering work in support of the U.S. Air Force Test Center (AFTC) Digital Integrated Air Defense System (DIADS) program office. Activities to be performed on the contract include development and integration of new capabilities into the DIADS model, sustainment of existing DIADS capabilities, performing customer project support activities, and finally integration of the DIADS capabilities into other simulators and test range systems that are used to train pilots and evaluate weapons system performance.
Chris Barsalou, Vice President of Avarint’s C4ISR Modeling and Simulation Group, commented, “This award is the culmination of years of quality of work and dedication to the job by the Avarint C4ISR staff. Historically, Avarint has supported the Air Force Flight Test Center on multiple 5-year IDIQ type contracts and the 10-year period of performance on the new CHAC contract speaks to the trust that AFTC has with Avarint to perform this highly critical work”. He continued that, “The sole-source nature of the award reflects on the highly specialized subject matter expertise possessed by Avarint’s staff.” Finally, Chris added, “The whole team at Avarint is excited to continue providing support to the DIADS Program Office across all of its defense and intelligence community customers in test, training, and studies and analysis.”
Work on this contract will be performed largely at Avarint’s headquarter offices located in Buffalo, and at other sites located in San Antonio, TX, Edwards AFB, CA and at various other customer locations throughout the World.
